Meet Our Practitioners

Dr Jan Labuschagne graduated with his MBBCh from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1988 and entered private practice as a General Practitioner in 1992. In 2010, he established 2nd Avenue Medical Centre — a practice that has since grown into a cornerstone of the Verwoerdpark community, caring for patients across multiple generations of the same families.

Dr Labuschagne has invested consistently in expanding his clinical knowledge, holding advanced certifications in diabetes care from the Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology (2000) and the Foundation for Professional Development (2012), as well as specialist training in ADHD, mental health management, travel medicine, and the medical evaluation of professional drivers.

Dr Susan le Roux graduated with her MBChB from the University of Pretoria in 1982 and has been in active general practice since 1984 — bringing over 40 years of clinical experience to every patient she sees. She holds a dispensing licence and has a particular passion for family medicine and minor surgical procedures.

Warm, thorough, and deeply invested in the wellbeing of her patients, Dr le Roux is known for her unhurried approach and the personal attention she brings to each consultation. Outside of medicine, she finds joy in her faith community, time with family, Spanish dancing, crafts, and reading.
