These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the 2nd Avenue Medical Centre website and your engagement with our healthcare services. By accessing this website or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

3. Appointment Bookings

Submitting a booking request via this website does not constitute a confirmed appointment. Appointments are confirmed only once a member of our reception team has contacted you and confirmed the date and time. We reserve the right to decline or reschedule booking requests.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Late arrivals may result in a reduced consultation time or rescheduling at the practitioner's discretion.

4. Patient Registration

Information submitted via the new patient registration form is collected and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Submission of the registration form confirms your consent to the processing of your personal and health information for the purposes of providing healthcare services.

5. Consent to Treatment

Consent to medical examination and treatment is obtained at the point of consultation or via the patient registration form. Patients (or their legal guardians) retain the right to withdraw consent at any time, subject to the limitations described during the consultation.

Minors under the age of 18 require the consent of a parent or legal guardian, except in circumstances where consent by a minor is permitted under the Children's Act, 38 of 2005.

6. Payment Obligations

All patients are subject to our Billing Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The patient, or their authorised representative, accepts liability for all fees incurred in connection with their healthcare.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, and design elements — is the intellectual property of 2nd Avenue Medical Centre or its licensed suppliers. Reproduction, distribution, or modification of any content without prior written consent is prohibited.

8. Third-Party Services

This website may link to or reference third-party services, including Ampath Laboratories, medical aid portals, and Bookem (physiotherapy booking). Use of these third-party services is subject to their own terms and conditions. We accept no responsibility for third-party platforms.

9. Limitation of Liability

10. Complaints & Dispute Resolution

If a complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may refer the matter to the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) at www.hpcsa.co.za.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The current version will always be published on this website. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
